Russ & the midginbil team
A unique, destination venue offering accommodation for over 150 guests.
With a variety of accommodation & catering options, 3 day wedding packages & self catering options for groups, retreats & events.
We have two dining areas on the property, the barn & the original 1906 homestead dining room & deck.
The property boasts a spectacular 400acres, with views out to the escarpments of the heritage listed “Night Cap” National Park. Surrounded by lush, green sub-tropical rainforest, a have a solar heated pool, tennis court & volley ball net & space to explore & connect in nature.
We host medium to large groups bookings only and do not take individual bookings.
The property was originally a large working dairy farm from the late 1800’s until the late 1960’s.
In 1971, the property, then known as “Devonshire”, Perch Creek was purchased by John & Annette Flower. The run down 400acre cattle property & the cattle crash in 1973 forced them to diversify & “Midginbil Hill” was born for “farm & eco tourism”.
The property started as a farm stay/campground & then became an outdoor education centre for school camps. John worked off farm at the sugar mill & Annette learned to speak Japanese & they started hosting Japanese students for camps. They grew a thriving business over their years here!
Midginbil has had a variety of different names over the years & a diversity of wonderful business, allowing others to share this beautiful venue & property. And a chance to regenerate the amazing flora & fauna surrounding us.
Our family purchased Midginbil Hill in January 2020 and rebranded it as Midginbil Eco Resort — a unique, family-owned wedding and events venue in the Northern Rivers of NSW, near Byron Bay and the Tweed Valley.
With farming roots stretching back generations in the Riverina, NSW, we’ve always believed in good, old-fashioned country hospitality and creating spaces where people feel truly at home. At Midginbil, that ethos shines through in everything we do — from our eco-friendly 3-day wedding packages to our group accommodation, surrounded by breathtaking hinterland scenery.
Before Midginbil, we owned and operated a holiday park on Lake Hume, near Albury, NSW. Over seven years, we transformed it from a run-down, unprofitable site into an award-winning, ATAP-accredited Top Parks destination. Our focus was simple: sustainability, great customer service, and building a warm, welcoming atmosphere for families, schools, and groups.
That same commitment is at the heart of Midginbil Eco Resort today. We’re proud to support local businesses, operate sustainably, and welcome couples and guests from across Australia to experience a truly authentic country wedding venue in the Gold Coast hinterland.
At Midginbil, every guest is welcomed like family — and we look forward to sharing this beautiful place with you.
We are here for you!
